Home Sweet Home.

Joel, Jeremiah and I loaded up in the car when Joel got off work last Wednesday and headed to Kentucky. We arrived, as usual, right around 5 a.m.  As tired as we remained throughout the week, we had such an amazing time. The point of the trip was to be there as my best friend, since 6th grade, and her husband welcomed their baby girl, Reese, to the world. The OB had told her she wouldn't make it through the weekend and we were really hoping for a St. Patrick's Day baby! But alas, Reese had other plans.  We walked about 30 miles, ate a lot of spicy food, tried the pineapple approach, and a few other things, but still no baby.  Our plans to leave Monday quickly went out the door when we found out Sam would be induced at 6 a.m. Monday morning.  Even though Reese didn't come until 1 p.m. Monday, we had the sweetest weekend, just sitting around with friends, enjoying both of our families, and going to church only to sit in the lobby and catch up with dear friends.

Jeremiah enjoyed his first Thin Mint!
Jeremiah loved Mimi's swing!

And then on Monday, March 21st, sweet baby Reese joined this world at 6lbs 13 oz and 20 in long. She is beautiful. Sam was amazing throughout labor and birth and Reese came at 12:57 p.m. It was so special to be at the hospital waiting for the news!

Jeremiah was very excited to meet his future wife, he even did his new "gasp" sound. It was really funny!

And that is all for now.

To Kentucky.

Day 7. Only one more day of work for Joel, then we are off to Kentucky! My best friend is hopefully having her baby, Reese, on St. Patrick's Day. I am beyond excited that we are able to go and be apart of celebrating this new life with Sam and Aaron.  When I found out Sam was having a girl, I went a little bow crazy. Okay, a lot bow crazy.

In other news, we switched Jeremiah to soy milk last week, and it has done amazing things. I feel like I have a whole new child. He is eating now, a lot, and loves it. Before it was forced and didn't happen. I think his little belly was just upset all the time.  And when our new grocery store opened this week, I found some yummy new things for him to try. He doesn't stop eating these veggie fries and also loved the homemade warm flour tortillas! I love it.

This blog post is a little random, so to continue with the trend...Our house has been a bit of a wreck since we moved. I finally got caught up on laundry but our bed and couch were covered for a few days.

I'm not sure how I will keep up with laundry when we had more to the mix. Oh well, I'm sure we'll figure it out. And to leave you with another picture, Jeremiah is in love with his new toothbrush. He still only has four teeth, but when I get out my toothbrush in the morning, I always give him his, and it is hard to get it back.

And who wouldn't want to see one more excited face. Enjoy!

Yesterday. Today.

Joel started a new schedule last month. He is now working 8 days on, then he gets 6 days off. The goal is to work at least 80 hours in the 8 days so that he "earns" the 6 days off.

It is great.

On the 6 days off.

But I struggle with that thought. When I was in school, I knew that I wanted to do a job that I would enjoy. Truly enjoy. I know too many people that work just for a pay check and live for the breaks. Joel's last 8 days, I feel like I got caught up in that thought. I was living for the those 6 glorious days that he would be off. Oh the break that I would get and the time we could spend together. Mostly, the extra help though.

I want to enjoy the job I have been blessed with in hanging out with Jeremiah every day. And now that we are on day 5 of the 8 working days, I can honestly say, I really do love it. There are always gonna be harder days, where I am looking forward to hearing the door unlock at 6pm so I can run to the bathroom without my little follower. But these 5 days have not been those days, and I am reminded what a blessing and joy I have in Jeremiah. He is always making me laugh.  If you haven't seen his excited face, you have to watch this video.

He does this all the time. I hope he never stops. I hope when he is turning 40, he will still do his excited face.  And he has started waving at everyone, for minutes, until they notice him. It makes me so happy, he makes the loneliest people smile.  I feel honored to have a child that brings such joy to the old woman at the grocery store. Even if it makes my shopping trip 15 minutes longer because we seem to pass her every aisle and she is always so happy this little man is waving at her and smiling back at her smile.  It is an honor to be his mother.

I'll leave you with a little photo shoot we had the other day.

Oh I love him.

Life Lately

I never have time to blog or put pictures on facebook, or pictures on the computer in general. Jeremiah is in love with the computer. He's got this cute little radar that goes off when he hears me open it and he crawls as fast as he can to get a glimpse.  So, it stays closed most of the day or sits in the corner blasting pandora, giving a soundtrack to our daily life. But today, I am watching my friend's little man, and somehow, completely unbeknown to me, both boys are sleeping at the same time. Both have been sleeping over an hour. I am kind of in shock, and taking full advantage of the time.  The time to sit, listening to Norah Jones on Pandora, looking over my pictures from the last few months, and smiling.

How can you not smile at this little walking, er stomping, man.

The last few months have been busy. Our dear friends, Cason and Colleen, came to visit from Ohio, upon returning from time in Kenya.  It was so great to relax and spend time with them. They are truly great friends, the kind that you can not see for a year and catch up right where you left off, like you have been living under the same roof forever. I love that. Sadly, we got our second snow when they were visiting. So much for convincing them Tyler is always sunny and warm. We had such a great time.
 Such a lovely couple.

We tried to play in the snow. It's a good thing we live in the south, he hated it.

But he hated being inside and watching me build a snowman just as much. Poor little guy.

These are a few other favorites. Jeremiah turned 1 on February 23rd. We had a great birthday party, but he did not like his cake. He still is not eating at all.  We are going to see a GI specialist in the next few weeks to start figuring out what is going on with his little belly.  And we found out he HATES his hands being dirty! So funny.

I'll leave you with one more favorite...
